    Answer and Explanation:

The Minimal art movement-also known as ABC art-was a reaction against Action Painting which was part of American Abstract Expressionism that dominated American art throughout the 1950s. Practitioners of Minimal art, who were called "Minimalists", felt that Action Painting lacked substance, and didn't represent real ideas to a great extent because the finished works of Action Painting lacked adequate representation of space and materials. In this regard, Minimal art addressed the notion of space, how objects take up space, and how viewers relate to them spatially.
