These characteristics include a size generally larger than prokaryotes, DNA enveloped by a membrane-surrounded nucleus, membrane-bound organelles, undergoing of complex processes like cellular respiration, presence of a cytoskeleton, linear DNA with histones, DNA with introns, undergoing of mitosis/meiosis, etc.
