A pure culture of an unknown bacterium was streaked onto plates of a variety of media. The fundamental dissimilarity of the colony morphology relies upon the nutrition and environment for the similar species of bacteria. In the case of TSA or trypticase soy agar, there is the availability of distinct sources of proteins as soya bean and casein, which offers five distinct kinds of proteins for the growth and dispersion of bacteria, while the minimal agar comprises only casein as the source of protein.
