during cellular respiration carbon dioxide is produced as a by-waste product. Oxygen is used during cellular respiration to produce energy and CO2 is given off as a waste by product.

The formula for aerobic respiration is as follows:

Glucose + Oxygen → Carbon dioxide + Water + Energy

    C6H12O6 + 6 O2 → 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + Energy (34-36 ATP + heat)

As you can see, the products are:

    •Carbon dioxide

    •Water

    •Energy as ATP (34-36)
