    b) False

    Explanation:

The presence of bacteria in the blood is known as bacteremia. These occurrences of bacteria in sange can occur suddenly or secondary to medical-dental procedures such as molar extraction, catheterization, wound healing or other procedures. It can also occur the spread of infection (metastasis) as is the case of Bacterial endocarditis in patients with damage to the heart valves. Transient bacteremia is usually asymptomatic although it can be accompanied by intermittent fever. The already persistent appearance of high fever and other symptoms indicate that there is a more serious infection, such as sepsis or septic shock.

Therefore, they cannot be considered synonymous because not all bacteremia ends in septicemia and the medical approach given to each of them is different depending on the severity of the infection.
