The analysis or evaluation of the orthologous gene tells one regarding the function of the gene monitoring the trait, that is, the ancestral form of the gene was probably taking part in a different biological function and do not need to get restricted to the production of fur. Thus, the function of the gene is not restricted to production of fur, and the gene may function in another procedure, which is witnessed in all of the species.
