How does impulsivity relate to substance dependence

Impulsivity is defined as the actions of a person which he did without thinking that action is without planning of either that action will gives you positive or negative outcome.

When we relate impulsivity to substance dependence, it shows that a person with impulsivity have a higher rate of substance dependence.
