Blood typing is not a viable method to distinguish between babies because blood typing cannot explain the different genotypes.

    Explanation:

Blood typing can never be used to determine the parents of a baby due to several reasons:

    1. A, B, AB and O are the only different kinds of blood types. Hence, if blood typing is used to test for a baby then it would be highly unauthentic as there would be only 4 possibilities of genotypes of blood.

    2. Even if we use the positive and negative factors like A+, B-, etc then that would comprise of only 8 types in total for blood genotypes. On this basis, a baby can never be distinguished.

    3. Another reason that blood typing cannot be used for distinguishing babies is the fact that the A, B and the + factors are dominants and the rest of the factors are recessive. Hence, the recessive allele would be suppressed in the parents which might be the blood type of the baby. In that case, it would be impossible to recognize the parents of the baby by blood typing.
