Colorblindness is a sex - linked recessive trait. If a man with colorblindness and a woman who is a carrier have children, what will be the genotypes and phenotypes of the male and female children?

    let's say "cc" represents the colorblindness gene, since it is a recessive trait. a male with colorblindness would have a "cc", and the woman is a carrier of the trait, so she would be "Cc".

    if we draw out the punnet square, we can come to the conclusion that 50% of the children have "Cc" and the other 50% have "cc"

    half of the children are carriers are carriers and half have the color blindness gene.
