Explain the concept of "natural selection" using your moths as an example

Natural selection is where the organisms which are more favorable to the environment has a higher chance to survive and pass on their traits to offsprings (reproduce).

One example using moths is that imagine there's 2 types of moths. The ones with pale color wings, and the other with dark brown color wings. In the area, the trees has dark brown branches. Therefore, the dark color moths can camouflage themselves with the branches. However, since the pale moths cannot blend themselves with the trees, they can be easily seen by predators. With that being said, it means that the predators are mostly likely going to consume the pale moths instead of the dark ones. The number of pale moths would decrease. Then, since there's more dark moths, they can reproduce more and the population of moths would eventually have more dark moths.

This example explains how natural selection works.
