    A body cavity is any fluid-filled space in a multi cellular organism other than those of vessels. Thoracic cavity is further separated into other cavities. Thoracic cavity is the chamber of the body of vertebrates that is protected by the thoracic wall. The thoracic cavity contains three major cavities or compartments that is the mediastinum and two pleural cavities. The correct answer is therefore, thoracic cavity.

    Thoracic is the body cavity that is further separated into other cavities. Thoracic cavity is the cavity contains vertebrates like lungs, heart, esophagus, trachea, thymus gland and thoracic duct along with multiple muscles and blood vessels and parts of body protecting them like rib cage and the skin around that space. This is also called as chest cavity.
