A student decides to conduct an experiment on a fish bowl that contains a goldfish and a plant. The student decides to remove the fish. Assuming that the bowl has a lid and no gases are going into or out of the bowl, describe what will happen to the amount of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the bowl over time.

    Carbon dioxide levels will decrease because the plant is taking it in and turning it into oxygen and the fish is no longer breathing it out and oxygen will increase because the fish is no longer breathing it in and the plant is still releasing it
