European rabbits were introduced to Australia in the 1800s and spread quickly across the continent, causing massive erosion, crop damage, and weed dispersal. What allowed the nonnative rabbit population to grow so quickly?

    There must have been lots of plants for them to eat so they reproduced too quickly for the crop population to handle.
