The major difference between the dark zone of the ocean and the forest floor of a tropical rain forest is of course access to light. Creatures at the bottom of the ocean have to evolve to be able to catch prey with very little light, meaning that many have antenae to find food. Creatures in the rain forest can use sight more readily.
