If there are 40 chromosomes in each body cell of an organism what is the total number of chromosomes normally present in a gamet produced by that organism?

    The gametes are haploid, having half the number of cells as compared to somatic cells. The gametes or cells produced by the organism will have 6 chromosomes if the organism has 12 chromosomes.
