Further Investigations:

A very important concept of succession is facilitation, where the successes of one community type

change the environment gradually so as to not favor their own (or their children's) continued

dominance, but rather favor the success of some new, different community members. Why do you

think organisms would facilitate the success of other organisms when it would be at the expense of

their own success?

The organisms would facilitate the success of other organisms when it would be at the expense of their own success because the growth of the success of the other organism can possibly be complementary to their own success.

    Explanation:

Some species of organisms choose to favor the success of the growth of other organisms so as to eliminate certain elements from their own species and revive newly. This favoring eventually leads to the depletion of the former species but that enables them to succeed with more resources left to the remaining ones.
