Why is the cell membrane sometimes referred to as a fluid mosaic? what part of the cell membrane acts like a fluid? and what makes it a mosaic?

    Fluid mosaic refers to the cell membranes ability to push a substance through the cell which is structure in a ‘mosaic’ like pattern. The fluid part is the lipid tail of the phosphate lipid body. As this rail is hydrophobic it repels water down the tail in a ‘fluid motion’. The mosaic part is the alignment of the cell membrane as it is very structured
