Describe the classification of plants. Be sure to include the two major groups and explain how they are further divided.

Plants are divided into two major groups i. e. Cryptogams and phenarogams. Cryptogams is divided into three groups i. e. thalophta, bryophyta and Pteredophyta. Thalophta is again divided into algae and fungi, while phenarogam is divided into two groups i. e. Gymnosperms and Angiosperms. Angiosperm is again divided into two groups i. e. Monocot and dicot.

Plants are grouped into two main categories, nonvascular and vascular plants. Vascular plants are further divided into seedless and seed plants. Seed plants are further divided into nonflowering and flowering plants.
