    Condensation reaction

    Explanation:

Covalent peptide bond is formed between two amino acids. It is formed by condensation reaction which is also called as dehydration synthesis reaction. One molecule's carboxyl group reacts with other molecule's amino group releasing a water molecule. This CO-NH bond is called as peptide bond or amide bond and an amide molecule is formed as a result.

An amide bond shows resonance which allows its stabilization and versatility of molecule in different environment. The amino acids link together via condensation reaction to form larger polypeptide chains.
