The kind of survey that would best serve the purpose described in the question is the Naturalistic Observation Method using e-tailing sites. E-tailing refers to electronic retailing.

    Explanation:

Assume the product is a product to be used in the kitchen such as a hybrid cooker, we could set up an electronic observatory which allows us to see what customers in their natural elements are looking for when making a buy or no buy decision.

Their user accounts which already contains some biodata provides ones with relevant details useful for demographic analysis.

Naturalistic observation, in this case, would entail checking to see

whether they read reviews before purchasing the product the keywords they use whilst searching for similar products what their preference//reaction to different kinds of pricing strategies are amongst other traits.

This method is very apt because it allows the researcher to do the observation electronically without necessary invading the privacy of the "respondent".

It is very suitable, more so, because Oman is an Islamic state which is somewhat conservative.

    Cheers!
