    The most common restrictions that apply on the use of business properties are zoning ordinances, building codes and environmental regulations.

    Also some specific regulations regarding certain industries, e. g. restaurants have to comply with several health related regulations.

    Clinics and hospitals also have to comply with a lot of regulations specially regarding where they can operate and required infrastructure.

    A government can also take away private property through the power of eminent domain it is considers that the public good is being affected.
