    If rick wants to minimize the amount of retroactive interference he should study for the exams earlier. Retroactive interference is a phenomenon that occurs when newly learned information interferes with and impedes the recall of previously learned information. For example calling your ex-boyfriend/girlfriend by your new boyfriend/girlfriend's name, the new name retroactively interferes with the old one, which is clearly problematic for recall.

    If Rick wants to minimize the amount of retroactive interference he should study for one of the exam earlier. If he is able to manage one of the exam preparation ahead of the schedule, then he will be able to focus on the other exam during the exam time period. This will ease the pressure on him during the exam time.
