Suppose you are digging a hole in the ground. You notice that the soil is in two layers. Each layer has particles of different sizes. You observe the soil closely and find that the bottom layer is made up mostly of sand and the top layer is made up mostly of clay. What do you think caused the soil to have two different layers?
