What distinguishes the rock cycle the water cycle the carbon cycle and the nitrogen cycle as Cycles

    These four cycles stated above are all series of processes of change. The only difference is the element included. Definitions are provided below as to how is it differentiated from the other:

    Rock cycle is a model that shows the cycle of processes that rocks have undergone in the Earth’s crust among the three main rock types: sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic.

    Water cycle - this shows the processes by which water circulates between the ocean, atmosphere, and land. It has three processes mainly evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. This cycle shows how water is being restored to be of use to Earth’s inhabitants.

    Carbon cycle - this is a series of processes wherein carbon compounds are being converted in the environment. This is mainly involved in the incorporation of carbon dioxide being used in photosynthesis. This is also being used to maintain the equilibrium of the ecosystem as carbon dioxide is one of the important elements for organisms to survive.

    Nitrogen cycle - this involves series of processes wherein nitrogen and all of its compounds are being converted between the environment and the living organisms.
