What is the predominant intermolecular force in the liquid state of each of these compounds: methanol (ch3oh), carbon tetrachloride (ccl4), and hydrogen chloride (hcl) ?

    The predominant intermolecular force in methanol would be hydrogen bonding due to the presence of oxygen and hydrogen. For carbon tetrachloride and hydrochloric acid, the predominant force would be dipole-dipole interactions which is caused by the positive end and the negative end of a polar molecule.
