How do animal participate in the carbon and oxygen cycle?

Respiration - a nimals take organic matter (sugars ...) and oxygen and release carbon dioxide and water.

Decomposition - when organic matter breaks down chemically into all the simple elements. When animal dies all the carbon and oxygen, return to the soil and air during decomposition.
