    We have to express the mass in grams, using the scientific notation and in milligrams.

    Mass = 0.005 g

    In scientific notation:

    0.005 g = 5 * 10^3 g

    Also: 1 mg = 1 * 10^ (-3) g = 0.001 g

    Therefore: 0,005 g = 5 mg.
