In chemistry, what is a precipitate? I'm doing an assignment where the question is: So ... say the two chemicals were Lead nitrate + Sodium and they produced a 'white precipitate'

    It is a substance that is deposited in solid form from a solution. In that case it's saying lead nitrate and sodium mixed together made a solid white substance.
