    In Virginia various watershed protection programs have been run in order to protect, restore and enhance local watersheds. In these programs the natural resources of water are protected from floodwaters, erosion and sediment deposition. Before and after any major storm events or distructional activities by humans the water resources are conserved and developed. As these programs conserving water resources, they are also promoting the aquatic life of different organisms.
