When using the ohmmeter function of the digital multimeter to check continuity, what does the "OL" in the display mean?

    It usually stands for open loop, another way of saying there isn't continuity.

    or it can also means OVER-LIMIT

    beyond the limits of the meter to register, such as "infinity" on a resistance scale

    which are both the same thing
