    The Monkey's Paw is a short story written by W. W. Jacobs and it narrates the relationship between a family and a monkey's paw that arrives to their life with no good news.

    Even though terrible things are expected by the events narrated at the beginning of the story, it is possible to say that readers might not expect what happened. For instance, the money the family received was supposed to be from a disgrace, but they (nor readers) expected what happened. Due to this, I disagree.
