How did war change the Sadako's family's life forever?

Sadako was only 2 years old when the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. She was flown out of the window but was safe. Ten years later she suffered from Leukemia as a result of the radiation exposure. With her disease, her family also suffered as they had to see her in pain.
