Why are stage directions important in order to understanding a play?

    Stage direction is important because the director is the only person who can create the visual effect by placing the actors in the positions required. He can also get the best expressions out of the actors and actresses. This placing of actors will let the play run smoothly and also create smart transitions between different parts of the play.
