Night is an autobiography of Wiesel where he represents his life and his journey through the Holocaust as a child. He grew up as a very devout Jew and then spends his time in a Nazi concentration camp, a very drastic change. In the end the story ends with his release. The book marks the change of Wiesel during and after the Holocaust, the step and change he had from darkness to light. The title of the book is based on the Jewish tradition that every day begins with the sunset.
