In "Life is a Dream" we have several characters that go through a process of self-discovery. Sigismund the King's son and heir of the throne who is incarcerated due to a prediction made to the King about his son becoming a monster which destroys all his land ... Later on time when he's taken out of his enclosure he is told to be dreaming, which he believes since he was drugged every time he was going to be transported because of his untamed behavior, after all this he becomes pacific and polite extremely respectful of others and he learns to control himself under the concept that all his experiences ae a dream and he'll eventually wake up.
