    Vera, the child from the story, was bored to death in her ant's house. Her aunt, Mrs. Sappleton, recieved guests Vera did not like much. Inventing stories was her pastime. She was able to mix up fiction and reality in matters of seconds and with these stories she managed to keep the guests away. In this story, her fantasy was not related to romance but to tragedy. She could invent a "ghost" story quickly and easily.
