    d. A and B

    Explanation:

Both of these statements explain why the name Daedalus is used for Stephen Dedalus. Stephen Dedalus is James Joyce's alter ego, and he appears in both Ullyses and in Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. Stephen Dedalus received this name because he is a talented artist, much as the craftsman Daedalus. Moreover, he is also compared to Daedalus due to the fact that both of the are trapped in a labyrinth. However, in the case of Stephen Dedalus, this labyrinth is that of church and family in Ireland.
