the mood of the setting is frightening because the situation that they are in is very dangerous. they have a high possibility of getting arrested or possibly killed. one scene that you can compare to this is the scene of when the nazis are walking down the street. this relates to my answer because it shows how the nazis are very strict and will do whatever they need to capture the people who don't belong.
