What is the BEST summary of the main idea of this passage?

Asked in mid-2006 whether immigrants were "a good or bad influence on the way things are going in your country," a slim majority of U. S. respondents called immigrants a "good influence"; the opposing view prevailed in France and Great Britain, where tensions between immigrant and non-immigrant populations have been rising. In the U. S. as in Europe, some politicians have sought to capitalize on anti-immigrant sentiment. Especially in states such as California with large immigrant populations, however, candidates must also be mindful of immigrant communities' growing political clout.

Overall no matter what, the immigrants will be known as a good influence by the US on the way things are going in your country. In France and Great Britain will be where with the opposing view lies.
