The poet William Carlos Williams is basically describing Brueghel's painting. Of course he does it from his perspective, focusing on the fact that it is spring and that Icarus's wings, made out of wax must have melted, making him fall to the sea, while nobody sees or pays attention to this event. The painting describes this same situation, the poetic voice is also indifferent to the fall of Icarus, and the painting wants the viewer to feel this indifference.
