    Hello! I had some trouble with this one too.

    Internal Conflict: The feelings the wife has for her husband, such as pride and modesty for him, it could also be the young boys interpretation of the situation, but I would go with the former.

    External Conflict: When her husband writes to her, and addresses her by her name, and the woman addressing her husband but his name when talking about the letter.

    Both internal and external conflict has been described in these lines.

    Explanation:

    The internal conflict says that the emotions which are felt by the wife for her husband like dignity and reticence can be the situation which is interpreted by the young boy.

    On the other hand, external conflict refers to the situation where the husband can address the wife with her name but the wife cannot take his name while addressing him.
