Read the passage.

Rita had been on summer vacation for five weeks. The first few weeks had been great. She had gone on a trip with her friend's family to Florida, and then her own family visited relatives who lived by a lake. Rita had enjoyed these trips. However, there were no more activities planned for the rest of the summer, and several of Rita's friends were still on vacation. She watched television most of the time and counted the days until her friends would come back from their trips.

You can conclude that Rita enjoys being active and being around friends and family, so when she didn't have anything to do the rest of the summer she grew bored and lazy, which caused her to count and dwell on the fact that her friends weren't with her and how many days were left until they were.
