Flying squirrels are unusual animals. Despite their name, flying squirrels don't actually fly. They glide through the air using a membrane that connects their front legs to their back legs. To get from one tree to another, the flying squirrel launches itself from a branch and it spreads out its legs. The membrane allows the flying squirrel to glide to the next tree, and small movements of its legs allow it to steer itself to its destination. A flying squirrel can "fly" up to 150 feet. Base jumpers and skydivers use suits with a similar design to the membranes of a flying squirrel in order to perform the amazing and daring feats. 1 What is the best summary of the paragraph?
