The common theme between Cheknov's "A Problem" and the Greek myth "Daedalus and Icarus" is when bad habits are not changed unless people paid for them. Sasha, the main character in "A Problem" did not change because he did not had any punishment for his wrongdoings. Icarus drowned because he did not listen to his father.
