    The city-state of Athens was able to introduce democracy in the Greek civilization in 6th B. C. Democracy is very different from Ancient Greece what we know of it today. Athens introduce direct democracy which allowed all Athenians to vote on rules and laws. Only male citizens were allowed to vote because women, slaves, and children were not considered to be citizens of the city-state.
