How did the state of Texas react to the bombing of Pearl Harbor?

Texas and the rest of the United States entered the war on the Allies side. 7% of the population were first to enlist in the army, and many more followed. Most soldiers came from Texas during this time. While they were fighting, woman were shoved into the manufacturing industry, and made things for the soldiers.
