Compare and contrast landslides and mudflows.

Both of them are flows, however, land slides occur when the large amounts of the earth surface disintegrate usually down a slope due to being loose while a mud flow occurs when only a small layer of the earth surface disintegrates. It usually looks like a normal erosion, except for being a little severe.
