The subducting is the process that relates to the formation of the mountain building and is associated with the formation of volcanoes. The origin of the hotspots takes place due to the slow movement of the plate tectonics as they are fed by the narrow streams that come from the mantle and are related to the island formations like that of the hawaiian islands.
