    Because throughout the nation's history, various people from many countries (primarily European) have immigrated to the country. For example, there were many Irish, Italian, Chinese, and German immigrants in American cities during the early 1900s. Even today, there are still some immigrants, such as those from Latin America and some Asian countries.
