Late 18th century to mid 19th century the Europeans went to the pacific to trade what?

I don't know if you have any options, but I believe that the Europeans went to the Pacific to trade fur at the time. They went to America primarily in order to trade fur with the Native American tribes who lived there. The French, the English, and the Dutch were primarily interested in fur trade during those centuries.
